Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized Raw bananas
  • 1 large, finely chopped Onion
  • 1 large, finely chopped Tomato
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 10 leaves Curry leaves
  • 2 slit Green chili
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon or to taste Salt
  • 0.5 cup Low-fat yogurt
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons, chopped Cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Peel the raw bananas and cut them into 1-inch thick rounds.

Step 2

Heat 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.

Step 3

Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add the curry leaves and slit green chilies.

Step 4

Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

Step 5

Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.

Step 6

Stir in the chopped tomato and cook until it softens and oil starts to leave the sides.

Step 7

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.

Step 8

Add the raw banana pieces and mix so that they are well coated with the spices.

Pour in 2 cups of water, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes or until the bananas are tender.

Reduce the heat to low, stir in the low-fat yogurt, and mix gently. Let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Step 11

Sprinkle garam masala and chopped cilantro, mix well and turn off the heat.

Step 12
