Ingredients

  • 240 grams Sweet Rice Flour (Glutinous Rice Flour)
  • 60 grams All-Purpose Flour
  • 10 grams Baking Powder
  • 50 grams Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Egg Whites
  • 240 ml Low-Fat Milk
  • 5 ml Vanilla Extract
  • 60 ml Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1 as needed Cooking Spray
  • 30 grams Powdered Sugar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly spray a donut baking pan with cooking spray.

Step 2

In a large bowl, mix the sweet rice flour, all-purpose flour, and baking powder together until well combined.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and egg whites until frothy.

Step 4

Add the low-fat milk, vanilla extract, and unsweetened applesauce to the egg white mixture and mix well.

Step 5

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Transfer the batter to a piping bag (or use a zip-top bag with a corner cut off) and pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.

Step 7

Bake the donuts in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they spring back when lightly pressed.

Step 8

Remove the donuts from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 9

Once cooled, dust the donuts with powdered sugar before serving.
