Ingredients

  • 500 grams low-fat ground beef (10% fat or less)
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 medium garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 as needed olive oil spray

Directions

Step 1

Peel and grate the onion using the coarse side of a box grater. Place the grated onion in a fine-mesh sieve over a bowl and press out as much moisture as possible.

Step 2

Finely chop the garlic cloves or use a garlic press.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the low-fat ground beef, grated onion, chopped garlic, salt, black pepper, turmeric, cumin, coriander, chopped parsley, egg white, and lemon juice. Mix everything thoroughly using your hands until well combined.

Step 4

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. If using an outdoor grill, lightly oil the grates with olive oil spray.

Step 5

Divide the meat mixture into 8 equal parts. Shape each portion into a long, flat sausage shape around metal skewers or form them into small patties if you're not using skewers.

Step 6

Place the skewers or patties on the preheated grill. Cook for 6-8 minutes on each side or until they are browned and cooked through, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 7

While cooking, periodically spray the kebabs lightly with olive oil spray to help retain moisture and prevent sticking.

Step 8

Once cooked, remove the kebabs from the grill and allow them to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Step 9

Serve with a side of fresh salad, flatbread, or a yogurt-based sauce for added flavor.
