Ingredients

  • 250 grams All-purpose flour
  • 5 grams Instant yeast
  • 20 grams Sugar
  • 5 grams Salt
  • 150 milliliters Low-fat milk
  • 1 Egg (beaten)
  • 15 milliliters Vegetable oil
  • 200 grams Pre-made low-fat Japanese curry filling
  • 100 grams Panko breadcrumbs
  • 0 Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt together.

Step 2

Warm the low-fat milk slightly until it's lukewarm, then pour it into the flour mixture along with the beaten egg and vegetable oil.

Step 3

Stir until a dough begins to form, then knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 4

Place the kneaded dough into a bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Step 5

Once risen, gently punch down the dough to release excess air. Divide it into 8 equal portions.

Step 6

Roll each portion into a ball. Flatten each ball, then place a spoonful of the pre-made low-fat Japanese curry filling into the center.

Step 7

Carefully wrap the dough around the filling, pinching the edges tightly to seal and shape it back into a ball.

Step 8

Once all the balls are filled and sealed, lightly spray them with cooking oil and roll each one gently with the panko breadcrumbs until coated.

Step 9

Place the coated balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 10

Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).

Step 11

Bake the coated dough balls in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 12

Remove from the oven and let the Kare Pan cool slightly before serving.
