  • 2 large, chopped carrots
  • 3 chopped celery stalks
  • 4 smashed garlic cloves
  • 1 small bunch parsley
  • 4 fresh thyme sprigs
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon whole peppercorns
  • 16 cups water

Directions

Step 1

Wash and prepare all the vegetables. Quarter the onions, chop the carrots and celery, and smash the garlic cloves.

In a large stockpot, add the prepared vegetables, parsley, thyme, bay leaves, and peppercorns.

Pour in 16 cups of cold water to cover all the ingredients.
