Ingredients

  • 250 grams ground chicken
  • 1 cup cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, shredded cabbage, grated carrot, chopped green onions, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix until well combined.

Step 2

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and add a teaspoon of the filling mixture in the center.

Step 3

Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half to create a half-moon shape, making sure the filling is snug.

Step 4

Press the edges together to seal, pleating the seam if desired to ensure a tight seal. Repeat this process with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 5

Mix the cornstarch with 1 cup of cold water and set aside.

Step 6

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Step 7

Add the pot stickers to the skillet in a single layer and cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 2 minutes.

Step 8

Once browned, carefully pour the cornstarch water mixture into the skillet. Cover immediately to avoid splattering.

Step 9

Steam the pot stickers for about 8 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the pot stickers are tender.

Step 10

Remove the lid and allow the bottoms to crisp up again for another 1-2 minutes.

Step 11

Transfer the pot stickers to a serving plate and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
