Ingredients

  • 6 slices Whole grain bread
  • 2 cups Low-fat milk (1% fat)
  • 3 large Egg whites
  • 3 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup Raisins
  • 1 as needed Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

Lightly coat an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 3

Cut the whole grain bread slices into 1-inch (2.5 cm) cubes and place them evenly in the baking dish.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the low-fat milk, egg whites, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

Step 5

Pour the mixture evenly over the bread cubes in the baking dish. Gently press the bread with a spoon to ensure it absorbs the liquid.

Step 6

Sprinkle the raisins evenly over the top of the bread mixture.

Step 7

Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.

Step 8

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Step 9

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the pudding is set.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
