Ingredients

  • 500 grams lean ground chicken
  • 100 grams whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 2 units egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 as needed non-stick cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground chicken, whole wheat breadcrumbs, egg whites, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.

Step 3

Using a tablespoon measure, scoop out the chicken mixture and shape it into small balls using your hands. This helps ensure uniform size for even cooking.

Step 4

Place each chicken ball onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.

Step 5

Lightly spray the tops of the chicken balls with non-stick cooking spray. This helps them crisp up in the oven without adding excess fat.

Step 6

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken balls are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 74°C or 165°F).

Step 7

Remove from the oven and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Step 8

Serve hot as a standalone snack or with a dipping sauce of your choice for a fun and healthy meal.
