Ingredients

  • 250 grams Lean ground beef
  • 250 grams Lean ground turkey
  • 50 grams Fresh whole-wheat breadcrumbs
  • 60 ml Skim milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 20 grams Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0 Olive oil spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a small bowl, soak the whole-wheat breadcrumbs in skim milk for about 5 minutes until they are soft.

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground turkey, soaked breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.

Step 4

Mix the ingredients thoroughly with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix as this can make the meatballs tough.

Step 5

With damp hands, form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 6

Lightly spray the meatballs with olive oil spray to help them brown in the oven.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown on the outside.

Step 8

Once cooked, remove from the oven and let the meatballs rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Step 9

Serve with your favorite tomato sauce and pasta or as a side dish with a fresh salad.
