Ingredients

  • 100 grams dark chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 from large eggs egg whites
  • 50 grams granulated sugar
  • 50 grams all-purpose flour
  • 50 ml low-fat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0 non-stick cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).

Step 2

Lightly spray four 150 ml ramekins with non-stick cooking spray and dust them with cocoa powder to prevent sticking.

Step 3

Melt the dark chocolate gently in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and egg whites until foamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar, whisking continuously until the mixture becomes pale and thick.

Step 5

Fold the melted chocolate into the egg mixture along with the vanilla extract and low-fat milk, stirring gently to combine.

Step 6

Sift the flour over the mixture and fold it in gently until you have a smooth batter.

Step 7

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

Step 8

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes. The fondants should be firm on the outside with a soft center.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let them sit for 1 minute before running a knife around the edges to loosen them.

Step 10

Carefully invert the ramekins onto serving plates and serve immediately while the centers are still gooey.
