Ingredients

  • 500 grams All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 300 milliliters Warm water
  • 1 large Egg white
  • 1 as needed Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and the egg white.

Step 3

Mix the ingredients together with a spoon until a dough starts to form.

Step 4

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Step 5

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl using the cooking spray, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until it has doubled in size.

Step 6

Punch down the dough to release the air and transfer it back to the floured surface. Divide the dough into 12 equal-sized pieces.

Step 7

Shape each piece into a round roll and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between them.

Step 8

Cover the rolls with the kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Step 9

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).

Step 10

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown on top.

Step 11

Remove them from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
