Prep Time:30 mins

Total Time:40 mins
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 300 grams ground chicken
  • 150 grams cabbage
  • 4 stalks green onions
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 40 pieces dumpling wrappers
  • 50 milliliters water
  • 1 spray cooking oil spray

Directions

Step 1

Finely shred the cabbage and mix it with a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Let it sit for 10 minutes to release excess water.

Step 2

Squeeze out the excess water from the cabbage and transfer it to another mixing bowl.

Step 3

Finely chop the green onions and add them to the cabbage.

Step 4

Grate or finely mince the ginger, then add it to the mix along with the ground chicken.

Step 5

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch into the mixture. Stir thoroughly until well combined.

Step 6

Lay a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface and place about one teaspoon of the filling in the center.

Step 7

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger, then fold the wrapper in half to create a half-moon shape.

Step 8

Seal the dumpling by pressing the edges together, making pleats if desired. Repeat with remaining filling and wrappers.

Step 9

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly coat with cooking oil spray.

Step 10

Arrange the dumplings in the skillet in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.

Step 11

Add water to the pan and cover immediately with a lid. Steam the dumplings for 5 minutes until the water has evaporated and the dumplings are cooked through.

Step 12

Remove the lid and cook for another minute to allow the bottoms to crisp up.

Step 13

Serve the dumplings hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
