  • 200 grams All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 120 ml Unsweetened applesauce
  • 150 grams Brown sugar
  • 2 large Egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 240 ml Low-fat buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon Caramel extract
  • 100 grams Reduced-fat cream cheese
  • 100 grams Icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Light caramel sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, mix together the unsweetened applesauce and brown sugar until well combined.

Add the egg whites one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
