Ingredients

  • 200 grams glutinous rice flour
  • 150 milliliters water
  • 100 grams low-fat red bean paste (or sweetened black bean paste)
  • 50 grams sesame seeds
  • 0 cooking oil spray

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour with water a little at a time, and mix until a smooth dough forms. The dough should be soft but not sticky.

Step 2

Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.

Step 3

Flatten each ball into a disc using your thumb and place about a teaspoon of low-fat red bean paste in the center. Carefully wrap the edges over the filling and roll it back into a ball, ensuring the filling is completely covered.

Step 4

Spread out the sesame seeds on a plate. Gently roll each filled rice ball in the sesame seeds to coat the surface evenly.

Step 5

Preheat an air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil spray to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Place the sesame-coated rice balls in the air fryer basket, being careful not to crowd them.

Step 7

Air fry for about 12-15 minutes or until the sesame seeds are golden brown, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Step 8

Remove the Buchi from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your low-fat treat warm or at room temperature.
