  • 500 grams Lean beef or lamb (cut into small cubes)
  • 200 grams Fresh okra, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 large Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 250 milliliters Water

Directions

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large non-stick pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the onions and sauté until golden brown.

Step 3

Add the ginger and garlic pastes, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Step 4

Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder. Stir well for about 1 minute.

Add the meat cubes to the pan and sauté them until they are browned on all sides.

Pour in the tomato puree, salt, and half the water. Stir well and bring to a simmer.

Cover and let it cook on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is tender.
