Ingredients

  • 1 cup Gram flour (Besan)
  • 1 cup Low-fat yogurt
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Green chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 0.75 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the gram flour, low-fat yogurt, and water. Whisk them together until it forms a smooth, lump-free batter with a pancake-like consistency.

Step 2

Add the finely chopped onion, green chilies, coriander leaves, grated ginger, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to the batter. Mix thoroughly to combine all the ingredients well.

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add half of the olive oil, spreading it evenly over the surface of the pan.

Pour half of the batter into the pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula to form a circle that is about 1/2 inch thick.

Cover the pan with a lid and let the pola cook for about 6-8 minutes on medium-low heat, or until the edges start to leave the sides of the pan and the bottom becomes golden brown.
