Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3

Mix until all spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

Step 4

Shape the mixed beef into a loaf and place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Step 5

Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 6

While the beef is cooking, peel and grate the cucumber.

Step 7

Place the grated cucumber in a layer of paper towel or cheesecloth and squeeze out as much moisture as possible.

In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, and fresh dill to create the tzatziki sauce.

Stir until well mixed and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Thinly slice the tomato, lettuce, and red onion for the donair toppings.

Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.

Step 12

Warm the whole wheat pita bread in the oven or on a skillet over medium heat.

Step 13

Assemble the donairs by placing slices of beef on the pita, adding the toppings, and drizzling with the prepared tzatziki sauce.

Step 14

Fold the pita to enclose the fillings and serve immediately.
