Ingredients

  • 300 grams Lean ground beef
  • 30 grams Fresh chives
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 piece Egg white
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 40 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 0 Vegetable or nonstick spray
  • 0 as needed Water

Directions

Step 1

Finely chop the fresh chives and set aside.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground beef, chopped chives, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, egg white, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well-combined.

Step 3

Prepare a clean, dry work surface and lay out several wonton wrappers.

Step 4

Place about a teaspoon of the beef mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.

Step 5

Moisten the edges of each wonton wrapper with a little water using your finger or a small brush.

Step 6

Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a half-moon shape, pressing the edges tightly to seal and removing as much air as possible.

Step 7

If desired, create pleats along the edge for a more traditional appearance.

Step 8

Repeat the process until all the beef mixture is used.

Step 9

Lightly coat a large skillet with vegetable or nonstick spray over medium heat.

Step 10

Add the dumplings in a single layer without overcrowding the pan.

Step 11

Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.

Step 12

Carefully add about 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and quickly cover with a lid.

Step 13

Allow the dumplings to steam for 4-5 minutes, or until the wrappers become translucent and the beef is cooked through.

Step 14

Uncover and cook for another 1-2 minutes to crisp the bottoms further if desired.

Step 15

Serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauce.
