Ingredients

  • 8 sheets Phyllo dough sheets
  • 2 medium Apples
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Low-calorie sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Non-fat milk
  • 0 Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Peel, core, and finely dice the apples. Place them in a small bowl.

Step 3

Add ground cinnamon, low-calorie sweetener, vanilla extract, and lemon juice to the apples. Mix well until the apples are evenly coated.

Step 4

Unroll the phyllo dough and keep it covered with a damp towel to prevent it from drying out.

Step 5

Take one sheet of phyllo and lightly spray it with cooking spray. Place another sheet on top and spray again. Repeat until you have used 4 sheets, creating a stack.

Step 6

Cut the phyllo stack into 4 equal rectangles.

Step 7

Place a tablespoon of the apple mixture at the bottom of one of the rectangles.

Step 8

Fold the phyllo over the apple mixture, folding in the sides as you roll to form a croissant shape. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets and apple mixture.

Step 9

Brush the tops of the croissants lightly with non-fat milk to help them brown during baking.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Step 11

Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
