Ingredients

  • 1 pound Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Green onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1.5 tablespoons Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 Tomato slices
  • 0.5 cup Remoulade sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Directions

Step 1

Chop half of the shrimp into small pieces and place the other half into a food processor. Pulse the shrimp in the food processor until it forms a paste-like consistency.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shrimp paste, chopped shrimp, panko breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, green onion, parsley, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly combined.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1 inch thick. Place the patties on a plate, cover, and refrigerate for 15 minutes to help them firm up.

Step 4

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the shrimp patties and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns lightly in a toaster or under a broiler for added texture and flavor.

Step 6

Assemble the shrimpburgers by spreading a generous amount of remoulade sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on top of the sauce, followed by a cooked shrimp patty. Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 7

Serve immediately with a side of coleslaw, fries, or your favorite southern-inspired side dish for a complete meal.
