Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon fillet
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp cumin
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 8 pieces butter lettuce leaves
  • 0.5 cup red cabbage
  • 1 medium avocado
  • 2 tbsp cilantro leaves
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp lime zest
  • 1 tsp extra lime juice
  • 0.5 tsp hot sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat.

Step 2

Pat the salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Rub it evenly with olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 5 minutes while you prepare other ingredients.

Step 3

Place the salmon, skin side down if it has skin, onto the preheated grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, then gently flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 4

While the salmon cooks, make the lime crema. In a small bowl, mix together the sour cream, lime zest, extra lime juice, and hot sauce. Set aside.

Step 5

Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for 2-3 minutes. Using a fork, flake the salmon into bite-sized pieces.

Step 6

To assemble each taco, place 1-2 butter lettuce leaves together as a base. Add a few tablespoons of red cabbage, a couple of salmon flakes, a slice or two of avocado, and a small drizzle of lime crema. Garnish with cilantro leaves.

Step 7

Serve immediately with lime wedges, if desired, and enjoy!
