Ingredients

  • 2 cups Almond flour
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut flour
  • 1 teaspoon Xanthan gum
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons Warm water
  • 1 pound Ground beef or lamb
  • 1 large Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons Butter

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, and xanthan gum.

Step 2

Add the eggs, olive oil, and warm water to the dry ingredients and knead until a smooth, pliable dough forms. If the dough feels too dry, add a few more drops of water, one at a time. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.

Step 3

While the dough is resting, prepare the filling. Finely dice the onion and garlic, then combine them with the ground beef or lamb in a mixing bowl.

Step 4

Season the meat mixture with salt, black pepper, cumin, and finely chopped parsley. Mix well to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed.

Step 5

Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle, approximately 6 inches in diameter, using a rolling pin. Sprinkle almond flour lightly on the surface to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Place a heaping tablespoon of the meat mixture in the center of each dough circle.

Step 7

Fold the dough over the filling to create a dumpling shape. Pinch the edges tightly to seal, ensuring no filling leaks out during steaming.

Step 8

Grease the tiers of a steaming pot or a bamboo steamer with butter to prevent the manty from sticking.

Step 9

Place the dumplings into the steamer tiers, ensuring they don’t touch each other. Steam the manty for 30-35 minutes over medium-high heat.

Step 10

Once cooked, remove the manty carefully from the steamer and let them rest for 2-3 minutes to cool slightly before serving.

Step 11

Serve warm, optionally garnished with additional chopped parsley or paired with a dollop of sour cream for dipping.
