Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 0.25 cup Almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 8 leaves Lettuce leaves (for serving)
  • 0.25 cup Sour cream (optional)
  • 0.25 cup Salsa (optional)
  • 1 whole Avocado (sliced, optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, shredded cheddar cheese, almond flour, chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly using your hands or a spoon until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, approximately 3 inches in diameter.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, place the taco patties in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 4

Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 160°F (70°C) for ground beef. Adjust the cooking time if needed based on the thickness of the patties.

Step 5

Remove the patties from the skillet and set them aside to rest for 2 minutes.

Step 6

Serve the taco patties on large lettuce leaves as a low-carb alternative to taco shells. Top with sour cream, salsa, avocado slices, or your favorite low-carb toppings.

Step 7

Enjoy your delicious and nutritious low-carb taco patties!
