Ingredients

  • 300 grams Fresh spinach leaves
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Low-sodium soy sauce
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Wash the spinach thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Drain well and set aside.

Step 2

Mince the garlic cloves and prepare all other ingredients so they are within reach, as the cooking process is quick.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Once hot, add the sesame oil and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and stir-fry for 30 seconds, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Step 5

Add the fresh spinach leaves to the skillet. Toss quickly to coat the spinach with the oil and garlic. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the spinach is just wilted but still bright green.

Step 6

Drizzle the soy sauce over the spinach and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 30 seconds.

Step 7

Remove from heat and transfer the stir-fried spinach to a serving dish.

Step 8

If desired, garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
