Ingredients

  • 1 large Daikon radish (or jicama, if preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

Peel the daikon radish (or jicama) and cut it into fry-sized strips, roughly 1/4 inch thick.

Step 3

Place the cut radish sticks into a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.

Step 4

In a small mixing bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper.

Step 5

Sprinkle the spice mixture over the radish fries and toss until they are evenly coated.

Step 6

Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet to ensure even cooking.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Step 8

Remove the fries from the oven and let them cool slightly. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley for garnish.

Step 9

Serve the low-carb spicy fries hot with your favorite low-carb dipping sauce, such as garlic aioli or spicy mayo.
