Ingredients

  • 2 cups Almond flour
  • 1 tablespoon Psyllium husk powder
  • 1 teaspoon Xanthan gum
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Allspice
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large bowl, mix together the almond flour, psyllium husk powder, xanthan gum, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and apple cider vinegar together until combined.

Step 4

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix well. Gradually add the boiling water while stirring until a dough forms.

Step 5

Let the dough rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the psyllium to absorb moisture.

Step 6

For the filling, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until the onions are translucent.

Step 7

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until it's browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Step 8

Stir in the tomato paste, cinnamon, allspice, black pepper, and lemon juice. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the flavors meld together. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 9

Divide the dough into 8 equal parts. Roll each part into a ball, then flatten into a disc on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 10

Spoon a generous tablespoon of the meat mixture onto the center of each disc.

Step 11

Fold the sides of each disc inward to form a triangular shape, pinching the seams to seal the sfihas.

Step 12

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.

Step 13

Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your low-carb Sfiha B Lahme!
