Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) Canned chickpeas
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

Drain and rinse the chickpeas under cold water, then spread them out on a clean kitchen towel to pat dry. Make sure to remove as much moisture as possible for optimal roasting.

Step 3

Transfer the dried chickpeas to a large mixing bowl and add olive oil. Toss to coat all the chickpeas evenly.

Step 4

In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix these spices well.

Step 5

Sprinkle the spice mixture over the oiled chickpeas and toss until the chickpeas are evenly coated with the spices.

Step 6

Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even roasting, until the chickpeas are golden brown and crispy.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and let cool. The chickpeas will continue to crisp up as they cool.

Step 9

Serve as a snack or use as a crunchy topping for salads and soups. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week to maintain crispiness.
