Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.25 cup almond flour
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz mushrooms
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 0.5 tsp xanthan gum
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, almond flour, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form each portion into an oval-shaped patty about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove patties from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add butter and let it melt. Then add sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and softened.

Step 5

Add beef broth to the skillet, stirring to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a simmer.

Sprinkle xanthan gum over the simmering broth and whisk continuously until the gravy thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
