Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized Rutabaga
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Peri Peri seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon Chili powder

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Step 2

Peel the rutabagas and cut them into approximately 1/4 inch thick fries.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cut rutabaga fries with olive oil, peri peri seasoning, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and chili powder.

Step 4

Toss the fries thoroughly in the bowl until they are evenly coated with the oil and seasoning mixture.

Step 5

Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they are not overcrowded to allow them to crisp up properly.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Step 7

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Adjust seasoning with additional salt, if desired.

Step 8

Serve warm as a side dish or enjoy them on their own with a low-carb dip.
