Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 8 ounces Mushrooms
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 8 Romaine lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 0.5 Red onion

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until the seasonings are evenly distributed.

Step 2

Shape the seasoned ground beef into four equal-sized patties.

Step 3

In a large skillet or sauté pan, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and tender. Remove the mushrooms from the pan and set aside.

Step 4

Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the same pan and let it melt. Place the beef patties in the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Step 5

Top each beef patty with a slice of Swiss cheese. Cover the pan with a lid for 1 minute to allow the cheese to melt.

Step 6

To assemble the burgers, place two lettuce leaves on each plate, serving as a low-carb 'bun'. Place a beef patty with melted Swiss cheese on top of the lettuce leaves.

Step 7

Distribute the sautéed mushrooms evenly over each cheese-topped patty.

Step 8

Slice the tomato and red onion thinly, then add slices of each on top of the mushrooms.

Step 9

Finish by topping with another couple of lettuce leaves to complete the low-carb burger.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy your Low Carb Mushroom Swiss Burger!
