Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 mix)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 slices sharp cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 12 leaves butter lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 0.5 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup pickles, sliced
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the beef mixture into 6 equal portions and form each portion into a small patty, slightly larger than your cheese slices. Use your thumb to make a shallow indentation in the center of each patty to prevent the patties from puffing up during cooking.

Step 3

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the beef patties. Cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side, or until nicely browned.

Step 4

Flip the patties, top each with a slice of cheddar cheese, and continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, prepare the condiments. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Set aside.

Step 6

To assemble the sliders, lay out two leaves of butter lettuce for each slider on your serving platter.

Step 7

Place one patty on each pair of lettuce leaves. Top with a slice of tomato, a few slices of red onion, and some pickles.

Step 8

Drizzle a spoonful of the mayonnaise and mustard mixture over the top of each slider.

Step 9

Wrap the lettuce leaves around the fillings like a bun, folding one side over the top and securing with a toothpick if necessary.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy your low carb, juicy beef sliders!
