Ingredients

  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes
  • 0.5 medium red onion
  • 1 jalapeño pepper
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 small garlic clove

Directions

Step 1

Start by washing and drying the tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro thoroughly.

Step 2

Dice the tomatoes into small cubes, discarding the seeds. Place the tomatoes in a medium-sized mixing bowl.

Step 3

Finely chop the red onion and add it to the bowl with the tomatoes.

Step 4

Slice the jalapeño pepper in half, remove the seeds and membrane for less heat, and finely dice the flesh. Add to the mixing bowl. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after handling the jalapeño.
