Ingredients

  • 500 g Raw prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 50 g Almond flour
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 stalks Green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 15 g Fresh coriander, chopped
  • 15 ml Soy sauce
  • 5 ml Sriracha
  • 15 ml Lime juice
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 60 ml Avocado oil (or any high smoke point oil) for frying

Directions

Step 1

Chop the prawns finely or pulse them in a food processor until coarsely ground.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the prawns, almond flour, egg, green onions, minced garlic, and chopped coriander.

Step 3

Add soy sauce, sriracha, lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the prawn mixture. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Step 4

Form the mixture into small patties, about the size of your palm, and place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.

Step 5

Heat the avocado oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Step 6

Once the oil is hot, carefully place prawn cakes into the skillet, avoiding overcrowding.

Step 7

Cook each prawn cake for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Step 8

Transfer the cooked prawn cakes onto a paper towel-lined plate to soak up any excess oil.

Step 9

Serve immediately with a side of lime wedges or a low-carb dipping sauce of your choice.
