Ingredients

  • 8 cups Water
  • 4 Black tea bags
  • 0.5 cup Low-carb sweetener (like Stevia or Erythritol)
  • 0.125 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 2 cups Ice cubes
  • 6 slices Lemon slices (optional)
  • 12 leaves Mint leaves (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Bring 8 cups of water to a boil in a large saucepan.

Step 2

Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately add the 4 black tea bags.

Step 3

Cover the saucepan and let the tea steep for about 5 minutes for a strong flavor.

Step 4

While the tea is steeping, add 0.125 teaspoon of baking soda to the pitcher you will use to serve the tea. The baking soda helps to neutralize any bitterness from the tea.

Step 5

Remove the tea bags after 5 minutes and gently squeeze them to extract any remaining liquid before discarding.

Step 6

Stir in 0.5 cup of low-carb sweetener while the tea is still warm to ensure it dissolves completely.

Step 7

Pour the sweetened tea into a pitcher prepared with baking soda.

Step 8

Add 2 cups of ice cubes into the freshly brewed tea to quickly cool it down.

Step 9

Refrigerate until well chilled, about 2 hours or serve immediately over additional ice cubes.

Step 10

Optionally, garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves before serving for an extra tangy and refreshing taste.
