Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 1 head Iceberg lettuce
  • 1 medium Tomato, sliced
  • 0.5 small Red onion, sliced
  • 0.25 cup Dill pickle slices
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently to incorporate the seasonings evenly.

Step 3

Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4-inch thick.

Step 4

Place the patties on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Step 5

During the last minute of grilling, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Close the grill lid or cover the skillet briefly to melt the cheese.

Step 6

While the burgers are cooking, prepare the lettuce wraps by carefully removing large, intact leaves from the head of iceberg lettuce. Wash and pat them dry.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing each cooked patty onto a lettuce leaf. Top with sliced tomato, red onion, dill pickle slices, a dollop of mayonnaise, and a squirt of mustard.

Step 8

Fold the lettuce wrap over the filling ingredients to mimic a bun, and serve immediately.
