Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese slices
  • 8 pieces large lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices sliced tomatoes
  • 4 slices pickles
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons mustard

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, ensuring they are slightly larger than the cheese slices as they will shrink when cooked.

Step 3

Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness, adjusting the time based on your preference.

Step 4

During the last minute of cooking, place one slice of cheddar cheese on each patty, cover with a lid or tent with foil to melt the cheese.

Step 5

Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers by laying two lettuce leaves on each serving plate, slightly overlapping.

Step 7

Place a cheeseburger patty on top of the lettuce, and then add a slice of tomato and a slice of pickle to each.

Step 8

Add a tablespoon of mayonnaise and half a tablespoon of mustard on top of the toppings.

Step 9

Wrap the burgers by folding the lettuce leaves over the toppings, secure with toothpicks if desired, and serve immediately.
