Ingredients

  • 500 g Ground chicken (or turkey)
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 12 large Cabbage leaves
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 500 ml Chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Chopped parsley

Directions

Step 1

Finely chop the onion and garlic cloves. Mix them with the ground chicken (or turkey), salt, and black pepper in a large bowl until well combined.

Step 2

Carefully blanch the cabbage leaves in boiling water for about 2-3 minutes to soften them. Remove and immerse them in ice water to stop cooking.

Step 3

Lay the cabbage leaves on a clean surface and pat them dry. Place a tablespoon of the chicken filling in the center of each leaf. Fold the sides over the filling and roll up the cabbage leaf to form a small parcel.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat and place the cabbage parcels seam side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes until browned.

Step 5

Pour the chicken broth and soy sauce into the pan, covering the parcels halfway. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes, ensuring the meat is cooked through.

Step 6

Serve the low-carb Chuchvara hot, garnished with chopped parsley for extra freshness and flavor.
