Ingredients

  • 0.5 pound Boneless pork shoulder
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons Monk fruit sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 2 cups Almond flour
  • 0.5 cup Coconut flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Xanthan gum
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Neutral oil (e.g., avocado oil)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Cut the boneless pork shoulder into small bite-sized pieces.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, monk fruit sweetener, garlic powder, and Chinese five-spice powder.

Step 3

Add the pork pieces to the marinade, mix well, and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 5

Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the marinated pork until it is fully cooked and caramelized. Set aside to cool.

Step 6

To make the dough, in a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, and xanthan gum.

Step 7

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add water and neutral oil.

Step 8

Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing well to form a dough.

Step 9

Divide the dough into eight equal portions. Flatten each portion into a circle using your hands or a rolling pin.

Step 10

Place a spoonful of the cooled pork filling in the center of each dough circle and fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges to seal and form a bun shape.

Step 11

Place the buns on a parchment-lined baking tray.

Step 12

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the buns are golden brown.

Step 13

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
