Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground beef (85% lean)
  • 100 grams feta cheese
  • 0.5 medium red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Finely chop the red onion and garlic cloves. Set aside.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well using your hands until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Step 3

Chop the fresh parsley and mint, and stir them into the beef mixture.

Step 4

Crumble the feta cheese into small pieces and add it to the mixture. Stir again to ensure even distribution.

Step 5

Add the egg to the beef mixture to help bind it together, mixing well.

Step 6

Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions, shaping each into a patty. Use your thumb to create a small indentation in the center for more even cooking.

Step 7

Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a non-stick skillet or grill pan.

Step 8

Once the oil is hot, add the bifteki patties and cook for 6-8 minutes per side, depending on your preferred level of doneness. Ensure each side is well browned and the center reaches a safe internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Step 9

Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Step 10

Serve the bifteki hot, accompanied by a fresh salad or low-carb side dish of your choice.
