Ingredients

  • 500 grams Beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 120 ml Coconut milk (unsweetened)
  • 60 ml Soy sauce
  • 30 ml Lime juice
  • 15 ml Fish sauce
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 15 grams Ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons Ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons Ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 60 grams Natural peanut butter (no added sugar)
  • 60 ml Water
  • 1 tablespoon Sweetener, such as erythritol or stevia
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil or cooking spray
  • 10 pieces Bamboo skewers

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine coconut milk, soy sauce, lime juice, fish sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt. Mix well to create the marinade.

Step 2

Add the thinly sliced beef sirloin to the marinade and ensure all pieces are well coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours for better flavor.

Step 3

Soak bamboo skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning during cooking.

Step 4

Thread the marinated beef slices onto the soaked bamboo skewers.

Step 5

Preheat a grill or griddle pan over medium-high heat. Lightly grease with olive oil or cooking spray.

Step 6

Grill the beef skewers for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until cooked through and charred around the edges.

Step 7

While the beef is cooking, prepare the peanut sauce. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine natural peanut butter, water, and sweetener. Stir continuously until smooth and warmed through.

Step 8

Serve the beef satay hot with the peanut sauce on the side for dipping.
