Ingredients

  • 500 grams Cauliflower florets
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 pieces Green chili
  • 3 pieces Garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons Mustard oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Begin by washing the cauliflower florets thoroughly under running water and set aside to drain.

Step 2

Finely chop the onion and green chilies. Peel and mince the garlic cloves.

Step 3

Steam or boil the cauliflower florets in a pot with water until they are tender, about 7-8 minutes, then drain and set aside to cool slightly.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, add the cooked cauliflower and mash it using a fork or potato masher until smooth with a few small chunks.

Step 5

Heat mustard oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the chopped onion and sauté until they turn golden brown.

Step 6

Add the green chilies and minced garlic to the pan and sauté for another 2 minutes until aromatic.

Step 7

Mix the sautéed onion, garlic, and chili along with salt and turmeric into the mashed cauliflower. Stir well to combine.
