Ingredients

  • 500 grams Boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Low-sodium soy sauce
  • 120 milliliters Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest
  • 1.5 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 60 milliliters Water
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces.

Step 2

In a bowl, toss the chicken with cornstarch until evenly coated.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and water to make the sauce.

Step 6

Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Step 7

Allow the sauce to reduce and thicken slightly, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes.

Step 8

Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat it evenly in the sauce.

Step 9

Cook for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring the chicken absorbs the flavors and the sauce coats it thoroughly.

Step 10

Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish.

Step 11

Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Step 12

Serve warm alongside steamed vegetables or brown rice for a complete meal.
