Ingredients

  • 120 grams unsalted butter
  • 200 grams granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 150 grams all-purpose flour
  • 100 grams ground almonds (almond meal)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 30 grams sliced almonds
  • 15 grams powdered sugar (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round springform pan. Line the bottom with parchment paper for easier removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then mix in the almond extract and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, ground almonds, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
