Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 1 cup cornflakes
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon (for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2

Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain well and transfer to a large mixing bowl.

Step 3

Add the unsalted butter to the warm noodles and toss until the butter is melted and the noodles are evenly coated.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sour cream, cottage cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth and well-combined.

Step 5

Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the buttered noodles and mix thoroughly to ensure all the noodles are coated.

Step 6

Fold in the raisins, ensuring they're evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Step 7

Transfer the noodle mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out into an even layer.

Step 8

In a small bowl, combine the cornflakes, granulated sugar, and additional ground cinnamon for the topping. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the kugel.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the kugel is set. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.

Step 10

Remove the kugel from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
