Ingredients

  • 8 oz Lo Mein noodles (fresh or dried)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, minced
  • 1 medium Carrot, julienned
  • 1 medium Red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Snow peas
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp Dark soy sauce (optional, for color)
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Cook the Lo Mein noodles according to the package instructions. If using fresh noodles, blanch them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, cornstarch, and water to create the sauce. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the carrot, red bell pepper, and snow peas to the pan. Stir-fry the vegetables for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.

Step 6

Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the empty side.

Step 7

Add the cooked Lo Mein noodles to the pan and toss with the vegetables.

Step 8

Pour the sauce over the noodles and vegetables, and toss well to coat everything evenly.

Step 9

Add the green onions and stir-fry for another minute to combine.

Step 10

Transfer the Lo Mein to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
