  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 175 milliliters Warm water

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Step 2

Drizzle the olive oil into the dry ingredients and mix using your hands or a fork until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 3

Gradually pour in the warm water, stirring as you go, until the dough starts to come together.

Step 4

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 3-4 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Step 5

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rest for 10 minutes.

Step 6

After resting, roll out each dough ball into a thin circle, approximately 6-8 inches in diameter, using a rolling pin. Lightly flour the surface to prevent sticking.

Step 7

Heat a dry, non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Place a rolled-out tortilla onto the skillet.

Cook the tortilla for about 30-45 seconds on one side, until bubbles form and brown spots appear. Flip and cook for another 30-45 seconds on the other side.

Step 9

Remove the cooked tortilla and place it on a plate lined with a clean kitchen towel. Cover to keep warm. Repeat with the remaining dough.

Serve warm or let cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving if desired.
