Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook until al dente according to the package instructions, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
While the pasta cooks, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes begin to soften and release their juices.
Pour in the white wine or chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let the mixture simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, stirring to combine with the tomato mixture. Add the lemon juice and stir well.
Add the drained linguine to the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time as needed to loosen the sauce.
Stir in the fresh parsley and adjust seasonings with additional salt and pepper, if needed.
Serve hot, garnished with extra parsley if desired. Enjoy!
