Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 1 cup Salsa
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup Black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup Guacamole
  • 0.5 cup Cherry tomatoes, diced
  • 2 stalks Green onion, sliced
  • 0.25 cup Black olives, sliced
  • 8 ounces Tortilla chips
  • 4 cups Assorted fresh vegetables (carrot sticks, celery, bell pepper strips, etc.)
  • 0.25 cup Sour cream, for spider web decoration

Directions

Step 1

In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.

Step 2

Add 1 cup of sour cream to the cream cheese and mix until well combined.

Step 3

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly onto a large round platter, creating the base layer.

Step 4

Spread the salsa evenly on top of the cream cheese layer.

Step 5

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the salsa layer, evenly covering the surface.

Step 6

Evenly distribute the black beans, diced cherry tomatoes, sliced green onions, and sliced black olives over the cheese layer.

Step 7

Carefully spread the guacamole in a thin layer on top of the toppings, leaving a bit of the layered mixture visible near the edges for added color and texture.

Step 8

To create the spider web, transfer 1/4 cup of sour cream into a small resealable plastic bag. Snip off a tiny corner of the bag to create a piping bag.

Step 9

Pipe concentric circles of sour cream on top of the guacamole layer, starting with a small circle in the center and gradually making larger circles outward.

Step 10

Using a toothpick or skewer, drag straight lines outward from the center circle to the edges at equal intervals, creating a spider web effect.

Step 11

Arrange tortilla chips and fresh vegetables around the edges of the platter for dipping.

Step 12

Optional: Add a plastic spider (thoroughly cleaned) to the platter as a decorative touch, ensuring it's removed before eating.

Step 13

Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 1 hour before serving to keep the layers fresh.
