Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish with olive oil and set it aside.

Step 2

Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss with melted butter. Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant and soft, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 4

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces with a wooden spoon. Season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Step 5

Stir in the marinara sauce, reduce the heat to low, and let simmer for 5-7 minutes.

Step 6

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and Parmesan cheese. Add the cooked spaghetti and toss until evenly coated.

Step 7

Press the egg-coated spaghetti into the prepared pie dish, forming an even crust across the bottom and up the sides.

Step 8

Spread the ricotta cheese over the spaghetti crust in an even layer.

Step 9

Pour the meat sauce over the ricotta layer, spreading it evenly.

Step 10

Top the pie with shredded mozzarella cheese, covering the entire surface.

Step 11

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 12

Remove the spaghetti pie from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes to set.

Step 13

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Slice into wedges and serve warm.
