Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 0.5 cup salsa
  • 0.5 cup diced tomatoes
  • 0.25 cup sliced black olives
  • 0.25 cup diced green onions
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 1 as needed cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Step 3

Add the taco seasoning mix and 1/4 cup of water to the cooked ground beef. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is well coated.

Step 4

Lightly spray a large baking sheet or pizza stone with cooking spray.

Step 5

Place one flour tortilla on the prepared baking sheet. Spread a thin, even layer of refried beans across the tortilla.

Step 6

Add a layer of the seasoned ground beef on top of the beans. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of shredded Mexican blend cheese over the beef.

Step 7

Place a second tortilla on top to create a pizza sandwich base. Spread 2 tablespoons of salsa evenly over the top tortilla.

Step 8

Sprinkle another 1/2 cup of shredded cheese over the salsa, then add toppings such as diced tomatoes, black olives, and green onions.

Step 9

Repeat this process for the other tortillas to make additional pizzas, if desired.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 11

Remove the pizzas from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.

Step 12

Slice each Mexican pizza into quarters using a pizza cutter. Serve warm with a dollop of sour cream on top or on the side.
